I’ve read a lot about Psychometric Testing and its purpose in measuring an individual’s personality, attitudes and beliefs, academic achievement, and in health-related fields. Reason being, in an interview situation, measurement of these unobservable factors are difficult.
The most common argument for employing this exercise in an interview is, “An employer wanting someone for a role requiring consistent attention to repetitive detail will probably not want to give that job to someone who is very creative and gets bored easily.”
I think what convinces employers to use this test surround the notion that it produces results that are both reliabile and valid.

I have a friend whose company uses a method called ‘disc profiling’ and from what I’ve heard it’s very accurate determining people’s behaviour in ‘normal’ and ‘stressful’ circumstances. They ask the candidate some simple looking questions and prepare graphs based on the answers. What I would like to know is what kind of questions are asked and how we can prepare for such a test?

Psychometric testing is done to match the personality and preferences of the candidate with the ones required for the job. there are different tests which are conducted under this. some of the tests which I use are 16 PF and MBTI. Please let me know if anyone need detailed information on these tests
